Entry Rules

Below are the ‘terms and conditions’ which you will need to adhere to if you are applying for an award.

  • The competition is open to all businesses based in Merton, that commenced trading prior to January 2022. If you are part of a national business, you should have a significant business operation in Merton.  
  • The one exception to this is Best New Business which is open to all businesses in Merton who commenced trading after January 2022.  
  • The Charity of the Year Award is the only category open to charities, who should be based in Merton. If you are a national charity brand, you should have a significant operation in Merton.  
  • You may enter up to two categories. In addition to this you can also enter, or be nominated, for the public vote category.    
  • The public vote category is open to all businesses in Merton.    
  • You do not have to be a member of the Merton Chamber of Commerce to enter.    
  • Sponsors cannot enter any category or be nominated for the public vote.    
  • The comments made on your application form, and any supporting evidence, should be accurate to the best of your knowledge.    
  • The judges’ panel will be made up of representatives from each of the sponsors.     
  • Each entry will be seen by at least three judges.  
  • We reserve the right to put a business into another category, if eligible.  
  • The judges’ decision is final.  Due to the high volume of entries, we cannot give feedback on individual applications.    
  • By entering these awards, you agree to our award partners and sponsors having access to your contact details.  
  • By submitting an application, you give permission to the category sponsor, or judges, making contact with you.  
  • By entering the awards, you agree to participate in publicity for the awards including the use of any images taken.  
  • Supporting marketing material and evidence is welcome.  
  • We reserve the right to withdraw any category, should it not receive sufficient entries.    
  • If you are chosen as a finalist, you will be required to purchase a ticket to attend the Award Ceremony which will take place on the evening of Thursday 19 September at AFC Wimbledon.

As with any fair competition, if you don’t comply with these terms, we have the right to disqualify you or declare your entry ineligible so it’s important to take note of these.
